This is a reissue of two Bobby Womack LP's from the early 1970's:
1 - 9: "Understanding", March 1972
10 - 16: "Communication", October 1971 (the final track fron this album: 'Yield Not To Temptation' has been omitted on this CD)
According to the sleeve notes (by Cliff White), Womack originally intended Understanding to be released before Communication but "the company went and put 'em out in the wrong order".

Understanding is the fourth studio album by American musician Bobby Womack. The album was released on March 30, 1972, by United Artists Records. Womack recorded Understanding in Memphis, Tennessee at American Sound Studio and in Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. At Muscle Shoals, he utilized top session players, including drummer Roger Hawkins, guitarists Jimmy Johnson and Tippy Armstrong, bassist David Hood and keyboardist Barry Beckett. Communication is the third studio album by American musician Bobby Womack. The album was released on September 15, 1971, by United Artists Records. It reached No. 5 on the Billboard R&B chart and No. 20 on the Billboard Jazz Chart in 1972. It included the hit single, That's The Way I Feel About Cha, which charted at No. 2 on the Billboard R&B Singles chart and No. 27 on the Billboard pop chart. First heard the album Understanding on the Trevor Nelson Soul show on Radio2 the songs he played were incredible and blew me away by how good they were, once I came home I orderded this double cd, impressed with Womack's cover versions of songs especially James Taylor's Fire and Rain which is so soulful, superb album and well recommended
