Kabalevsky: Cello Concerto No. 2 Op. 77, Khachaturian: Cello Concerto, Glazunov: Chant du Menestrel Op. Cello Concerto No. 2, Op. Molto sostenuto - Allegro molto e energico. 77: II. Presto marcato. 77: III. Andante con molto. The First Concerto for Cello and Orchestra 1949 by Dmitri Kabalevsky 1904-1987 was among the works written for children Kabalevsky did much to improve musical curricula for the young. The work is of simplicity and gaiety, with some noble and perhaps melancholic writings embedded mostly in the second movement. Dmitry Kabalevsky Cello Concerto No. 2 - III. Andante con moto. 320 Kbps. Raphael Wallfisch, London Philharmonic Orchestra. Alexander Glazunov Chant du Menestrel for Cello Orchestra . Glazunov Aleksandr Konstantinovich Raphael Wallfisch, London Philharmonic Orchestra. 2 in C major, Op. Cello Concerto in E minor. Allegro moderato. Raphael Wallfisch. The Cello Concerto No. 2, Opus 126, was written by Dmitri Shostakovich in the spring of 1966 in the Crimea. Like the first concerto, it was written for Mstislav Rostropovich, who gave the premiere in Moscow under Yevgeny Svetlanov on 25 September 1966 at the composer's 60th birthday concert. Sometimes the concerto is listed as being in the key of G, but the score gives no such indication. Solo cello Raphael Wallfisch. Orchestra London Philharmonic Orchestra. Conductor Bryden Thomson.
