Considering the extreme rarity of the original 78s, condition is generally better than might be hoped, but it must be borne in mind that only one or two copies are known to exist of some titles.

Discographical details from Blues And Gospel Records 1902 - 1943 by John Godrich and Robert Dixon (third edition, Storyville 1982).

NOTE: Sam Theard's complete 1934-1940 recordings are on Wolf WJS-1008.

Album

Covering a time span from April 1929 to May 1936, this collection is a veritable dipstick of lowbrow hedonistic humor, and is chock-full of smutty titles like She Skuffles That Ruff, She's Givin' It Away, Huggin' and Kissin' and Gwine On, and Rubbin' on That Darned Old Thing. For lascivious fun, She Can Love So Good is second only to the erotically charged version by Frankie Half-Pint Jaxon. Lovin' Sam Theard 1929-1936 - Lovin' Sam Theard.
