At the Golden Circle Stockholm is a two-volume album by the Ornette Coleman Trio, documenting concerts on the nights of December 3 and 4, 1965, in the Gyllene Cirkeln club in Stockholm. Comprising four Coleman originals, Volume One opens with the emcee introducing the trio and Ornett. I bought Golden Circle, volume 2, when it came out. It was brilliant. Recorded in two nights at the Golden Circle in Stockholm, Swedan Coleman and his trio which included 2 now long departed musicians, David Izenson on bass and Charles Moffet on drums, mesmerized audiences every night with their music. I was long turned off to Ornette even with his early Atlantic recordings since I thought he was out of tune but when I heard the first track, Faces & Places, I was hooked and started to re-examine those early recordings.
