OK Cowboy is the debut album of Vitalic, first released in 2005. After a year, the album was re-released featuring a second, enhanced CD. In 2012 it was awarded a gold certification from the Independent Music Companies Association which indicated sales of at least 75,000 copies throughout Europe. Pascal Arbez said in an interview with MusicRadar that I was only using a very basic and punk studio setup for this album. Polkamatic was composed as a lullaby for his first son, born during the making of. OK Cowboy. Electronic 2005. But he also displays a global perspective: La Rock 01 is bare-knuckled techno with a sleek Teutonic flourish, and The Past mimics Kraftwerk. Vitalic has a certain playful mystique that goes beyond Pascal Arbez's invented back story of being a Ukrainian trubcka player and occasional gigolo from a family of sea otter fur traders. In fact, his inability to take anything too seriously, least of all the music he makes, may be the key to Vitalic's appeal. Happily, I can't imagine anyone who cared for Vitalic's earlier material being disappointed with OK Cowboy. Part of that is because Poney is built into this record's DNA- rather than feeling like cursory inclusions, the EP's big three tracks sit beautifully alongside Arbez's less dancefloor-friendly, album-oriented material. The result is a much more complete and crafted record than you'd expect from an artist renowned for his killer singles. Not unlike LCD Soundsystem's best maximalist moments, the bulk of OK Cowboy's action happens in the mid and high. Debut full length album from French DJ Pascal Arbez, aka Vitalic, was released in 2005 on PIAS records. Easily one of the better electro, house, techno releases of the past forever. Infectious grooves, cold pulsing punchy beats, electronic sweeps and swooshes, cold indifferent female vocals, engine revving sound effects. Simply put, this album has something for every techno, electro fans. Very inventive and playful. Very high energy and varied. OK Cowboy CD, Album, Enh CD, Comp, Enh Col. Now we have a lot of electro sounds, someones are really good and others are only garbage its like any other music style period, and the most clear example is the 80's. At this moment is hard to find new sounds in this genre, but in this album we found someones really nice like those who remember the old synthesizers that refresh the album, wondering us with excelent tracks, great rythms and some incredible loops.
